Prison and Probation Ombudsman

Elizabeth has a wealth of experience in a wide range of Civil Service posts, and has been the Deputy Ombudsman responsible for investigating complaints by prisoners, probation supervisees and immigration detainees, since 2009. Elizabeth said, “It is a privilege to be stepping into the role of Acting Ombudsman.  My aim will be to maintain the PPO’s reputation as a professional and influential organisation by:

  • continuing to produce investigations of a high quality
  • promoting the lessons from our investigations to help make custody and community supervision fairer and safer
  • ensuring the office is in the best possible shape for the arrival of a new permanent Ombudsman
