Jane Leaman

Consultant in Public Health - Health and Justice Team
Public Health England (Confirmed)

Jane is currently working in Public Health England as a Consultant in Public Health in the Health and Well being directorate. She recently completed 5 months as the interim Director of Public Health in Newham where I was previous to this a locum Consultant in Public Health leading on Health Informatics, Mental Health and Substance Misuse. During the time of public health system transition Jane gained considerable experience as the public health lead for the NHS London transition team and through public health specialist independent practice. Prior to this she worked within the Health Inequalities National Support Team, at the Department of Health within which I contributed to and am an expert in developing practical approaches to achieving measurable improvement in health inequalities through applying change systematically and at large scale through key partner organisations. This position gave Jane the unique opportunity to work in a politicised world and enabling her to understand how national policy is translated into action at a local level.
